  • Dr. Michael Hill - President and Senior Scientist at Boise Technology, Inc.

Dr. Hill received his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of California, Irvine (Research Advisor: Dr. V. A. Apkarian) where his focus was condensed phase photophysics. His PhD dissertation revealed characteristics of condensed phase chemical reactions through laser spectroscopy based experiments. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Boise State University where he worked on the development of analytical instrumentation. Prior to his position at Boise Technology, he spent three years as a Research Assistant Professor at Boise State University. He has been employed in scientific research laboratories for more than 20 years and has a total of 11 publications in peer reviewed journals, and 1 patent. Dr. Hill keeps current with business management philosophy though enrolment in the MIT Slone School of Management.

  • Dr. Lawrence Scatena - Vice President for Research and Senior Scientist at Boise Technology, Inc.

Dr. Scatena has over 16 years of experience in non-linear laser surface spectroscopy/physics and surface/material related sciences.  He obtained his Ph.D. in physical chemistry where he employed second-order non-linear optical spectroscopy to examine molecular structure and surface interactions at organic/water interfaces under the direction of his research advisor, Dr. Geraldine L. Richmond.  His Ph.D. dissertation revealed the structure, hydrogen bonding, and orientation of water molecules at hydrophobic organic/water interfaces by vibrational sum frequency generation spectroscopy.  His current research focuses on gaining a molecular-level surface perspective of atmospheric surface chemistry and the heterogeneous catalysis of chemical warfare agent simulants.

  • Dr. Geoffrey Lott - Senior Scientist at Boise Technology, Inc.

Dr. Lott received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Oregon under the guidance of Dr. Andrew H. Marcus, where he utilized novel non-linear laser spectroscopy techniques to study biologically relevant condensed phase systems, such as ultrafast electronic energy transfer of porphyrin aggregates in lipid vesicle bilayers and slow conformation fluctuation dynamics of fluorescent protein complexes.  His current research at Boise Technology is aimed at developing a molecular-level understanding of surface-interface interactions between self-decontaminating reactive material complexes, atomospheric vapors, and CWA simulants.  The results of these studies will be used to optimize the functionality of future reactive material systems in collaboration with the US Army.

  • Ms. Helaine Weissman, CPA - Vice President of Finance and Accounting for Boise Technology, Inc.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from the George Washington University in 1987.  She has 16 years experience as a partner in a CPA firm where her primary areas of expertise included U.S. Government contracting audits and cost accounting procedures.  Prior to entering public accounting, she worked for 5 years as Controller for a large government contractor.  As controller, her duties included cost proposal writing, monitoring and formulation of indirect rates.  She has extensive experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).  Her experience includes wide-ranging experience with government auditors.  She understands FAR requirements regarding identification, accumulations, and reporting costs.  Moreover, she has learned how the indirect rate structure affects overall enterprise operations.  Ms. Weissman is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified public Accountants, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Idaho Society of Certified Public Accountants.

  • Mrs. Bonnie Fuller-Smith - Office Manager/Systems Administrator at Boise Technology, Inc.
